8-EIGHT-OCHO

My little Bubba.  He was only 4 hours short of being a Leap Year Baby.

He loves hearing the birth story, and he does wish he would have waited that 4 hours.

"If I had only waited 4 more hours, I'd only be turning 2"  he says.

I would have just liked him to have waited for the doctor to get into the room.

Bubba is a smart smart smart kid.

He loves math.
He has a quick sense of humor.
His last report card was straight As.

He is active in wrestling, football, baseball and cub scouts. (Which makes me a crazy Mom, just sayin.)

I love this boy.  I can't believe he's 8.

Let the giggling ensue...

Bubba -
After being woken up several times the other morning, he grouchily gets up and starts getting ready for school.  As I tap my foot by the front door, he says, "You're up and ready a lot better because you aren't working as hard as I am every night at football."

Bubba -
"Mom you only think about yourself."

*chokes on words*

I'd like to stop taking him to football, sitting there for 2 plus hours, giving kids water during breaks.  Etc.  I'd like to come home, make myself something to eat, only do my laundry and then sit and watch TV programs that I want to watch.  Show him how much I really think of only myself.

Brat.

Buggy -
On our way to softball practice:

"I really love softball this year Mom."
"That's awesome Buggy, I am glad you are enjoying it.  Why do you like it more this time around?"
"Less running."

After practice, the sweat is dripping off of buggy's forehead, she limping and gimping around, and just looking plain miserable.

"How was practice tonight?"
"I don't want to talk about it."
Giggling, "Why don't you want to talk about it?"
"We ran. A lot."
Giggling even more now, "OH Buggy, you jinxed yourself."

I just entered a giveaway @ Eden Fantasys.   Right after I did the last requirement for entry I got an email from Mr.FF.  It said, "what are youuuuu doing?"

I thought, shit, did it just post all over facebook that I just entered a giveaway for a sex toy?   It didn't, but I sure read the email in a tone of YOU'RE BUSTED.  lol.  Not that it's a secret obviously, I'm posting about it here.  It was just a funny coincidence. :o)

1,000

Why not be random? eh?  It's one of the things I do best.

In honor of my 1,000th post please send me $1,000.

Thank you.

Today is my 1000th post.  I mean technically it would have been yesterday two days a week ago had I posted, but the pressure was just too much to handle.  I think your $1,000 will help though.

While you're in the giving spirit....how 'bout some extra hours in the day?  A clone of me?

Have your people contact my people, let's make it happen.

Moving on.

Is it really time to be sending out email advertising Halloween Costumes?  Cause I'm getting 'em, and I've looked and then realized, for the love of PETE it's August.

Tonight is practice number  3 4 7 for football.  This year Mr.FF is Bubba's coach!  I am equipment manager in all ways. ;)  We have official weigh ins this Saturday and a scrimmage game.  Good times.  Go Team.

Also this weekend we are suppose to go to the minor league baseball game and camp out on the field afterwards with the cub scouts.  We did this last year too, it was cool. :)

The other day a funny thing happened.  I had all the brady kids.  I told them to grab a snack while I ran out to the van to clean out all the junk in the trunk. *giggle*  When I came back in, there were THREE BOYS, eating my fiber one bars.  I caught the younger two only three bites into theirs.  I made them put 'em down and step away from the poopin bars.  I let the older one finish his.  He wasn't sleeping at my house that night. ;)

On that note, let me just say this is the shittiest (ha) 1,000 post ever, but I have to leave early for football...maybe I should just give up bloggin.  *contemplating*

School's out. for. the. summaaaaa.

TODAY.

Today is the last day of school for my Buggy and Bubba...and for Onion and Burger.

LAST DAY of 1st grade, 4th grade, 7th grade and 2nd grade...holy cow that's a lot of grades.

Speaking of grades, the report cards come home with the kids today too.  I'm excited to see how they all did.  :)

SO, starting tomorrow the kids are OFFICIALLY on SUMMER BREAK.

Buggy will go to her Dad's for his half of the summer, our second year in a row with this new schedule.  This year it hasn't sent me into a fit of panic.

*pats self on back*

She is scheduled for her normal Karate classes two days a week and said she would like to try Fall Ball Softball again.  *woot*

Bubba is signed up for football camp.  His Dad signed him up for a White Sox baseball camp too, but it falls on the same week as his Jump Start Summer school program.  :(   Then there is finishing out the spring baseball games and then football starts at the beginning of August.

Lots going on.  Nothing new though.

We're a busy group (and this is just my schedule.  MR.FF's is just as bad, if not worse)

Anywho.

Time flies.

I'm a day late.

For wordless Wednesday...but....we had family pictures done for this year. :)

Thank you to Studio Rachel Photography

Three Headed Chin Twins.  Er, Triplets?!?!

Yes, my 10 1/2 year old is almost as tall as me.  There should be a law.  Just sayin.

Remember last year's pictures?   I love them and I love this year's too.  :)  Buggy has changed.  Bubba and I look the sameish.  :)  Bubba's missing teeth this year.  He has 3 missing, not counting the 2 molars he had to have pulled...that's 5 (for you non adding fools) total missing from his mouth right now.

It's not WHAT you have in your life, but WHO you have in your life that counts...

The traveling plunger.

Bubba and I, we clog toilets.

Sorry, but it's true.  This delicate little beautiful flower you know as Stacie's Madness, clogs toilets.

When I poop, I poop big.

Go big or go home.

Here at work we have ONE plunger for two bathrooms.

I make it a point to walk to the bathroom that is farther away from my office strictly because it usually houses the one lonely plunger.

I went to that bathroom today, stomach churning.  I unbutton my pants, sit down and look in the corner for my unclogging toilet friend.

It's not there.  It's too late, I've sat and committed to doing my business.  Good thing for this toilet that today's doody was manageable.

While we were in the hotel this weekend Bubba followed his norm by clogging the toilet.  That boy shits like a grown man.

In the past, when this has happened, I have gone down to the front desk and embarrassingly ask for a plunger.  Usually they hand me a plastic wrapped unclogger.  My blushing cheeks are only reddened for a minimal amount of time.

I trek down to the front desk; a young man asked if he could help me.

"Yes, please.  I need a plunger."

Clearly caught off guard he fumbles into an office awkwardly sputtering about a spare plunger.  Another worker noticed his flustered state and asked if she could help.

Awesome.  Anyone else?  Anyone else want in on the plunging fun?

Apparently.

She came over to me and said that they didn't have any plungers behind the counter for guests to use.  She then pushes the button on her walkie talkie.

"HI, Yes, we need someone to go up with a plunger to room 204."

The voice on the other end clarifies (full volume) "You need a PLUNGER in ROOM 204?"

"Yes." She responds then looks over at me.  "He'll be right up."

Awesome.

I walked back up to the room and waited for the final rush of mortification. (Is that a word?)

There's a knock on the door.  It's the hotel maintenance man, he's carrying a plunger with a handle on it that practically touched the ceiling.

Bubba looks at me in that "what the hell" kind of way.

I just shrugged and moved out of the way.

*Plunge, plunge, swoosh, swoosh, walkie talkie call asking for his help to jump a car, flush*

"There you go."  He said as he exited the room.

Sigh of relief, cause now I have to go.  You know, number 2.

So I did.  A nice one.  It wouldn't flush.

We used our friend's bathroom for the rest of the trip.

What?  There was no way in hell was I going to call for the Plunger Man a second time.

You're welcome.

I think from now on we should pack a traveling plunger in our bags.  Do you think security would have an issue with that?

I don't claim to be the brightest bulb on the shelf

Sharpest crayon in the box...

However those sayings go.

I have blonde moments.

I have several blonde moments.

Today being one...did you realize that it's May 3rd? I did. What I didn't realize is that school will be out in ONE MONTH. Holy crap. One more month of having a 4th grader and a 1st grader.

One more month of my daughter's elementary school career. She moves up to the intermediate school next year...for 5th grade.

No wonder I have greys...I am going to be a mom of a 5th grader. HOLY COW.

Bubba moves on to 2nd grade. He has had ZERO trips to the principle this year...which means he can continue his elementary career at the current school. :)

Summer in one month also means high day care costs *gulp*.

Summer in one month means the morning whine of why they have to get up early still and why can't they stay home or why do I have to work.

*Sigh*

Remember when summer break was fun? Yeah. That was before being an adult....er...getting older...er....graduating from school.

Summer is in one month. I haven't scheduled ONE vacation this year. Not a single one.

*sigh*

Summer is one month. Yo.

Please remind me that summer is my favorite season...because right now...I'm not feeling the love.

St. Patrick's Day...gone

I celebrated St. Patrick's day like no other, I am sure.

It's all about the food and beer right?  For lunch I had Chinese.  Dinner I had tacos.  No beer to be had.

I really wanted a beer yesterday.  I didn't have any.  As I drove past the Irish-named bar in our town, I could smell the stench of it, I could hear the noise of bar patrons, my mouth salivated a little, my social bones ached a little.

Bubba asked if St. Patrick's day was HIS holiday.  To a seven year old, isn't everyday their holiday?  I mean, my attention sucking seven year old seems to think that everyday is his day to ruin run the roost.  It's his day and he'll cry if he wants to.

"Dad says I'm half Irish.  So St. Patrick's Day is my holiday."

Ok.  Sure.  Have at it dude.  Party on Garth.

My Buggy girl in all her Italian coloring wore her "Kiss me I'm Irish" shirt to school.  I wonder if it brought her any luck.

Hope all of you, Irish or not, had a wonderful day...and a happy weekend, ya'll

There's always next year...

This was Bubba's first year wrestling.  I never knew I could be a competitive person.  In fact, I myself was never competitive athletically.

However, watching your children compete....it's hard NOT to be competitive.  I want him to win, but more importantly, I want to see him rewarded for his efforts.

This weekend we were in Indianapolis for the state wrestling tournament.  Bubba had only won one match all year, but we felt that being at state, feeling the pressure and getting through it would be a good experience.

We witness a lot of fit throwing...from other kids.  Out on the mats.  Despicable.  Quite honestly, I thought Bubba would have this same sort of behavior.  Except.  He hasn't.  Not once.  The same kid that called me a Bitch just mere days BEFORE this state competition.  Nope.  I suppose, he acts an ass and throws fits in the private of our homes...or something.  *shrugs*

I've been very proud of his attitude before a match, during the match and then after.   He's been respectful to the other wrestlers and coaches.  Well he hasn't called any of 'em bitches.

Anywho.  Here is a video of him...my baby boy...wrestling.  He has a lot to learn still...but he sure is cute in his little singlet...skinny dude. :) (He's in black)

I still get teary eyed after watching...

Seven.

Today, February 28th, is my Bubba's SEVENTH birthday.

*claps*

Feb 20th we celebrated Bubba's SEVENTH year life.  Or as MR.FF put it, we celebrate SEVEN years I've managed to live through life with Bubba.  OR SEVEN years and Bubba still has life.

I kid.  He can really be a good kid when he's paid.

Mr.FF made the cake...
ninja cake

Bubba read his birthday cards...so cool to hear your child read...

Bubba7 card

Bubba showed his party animal side.

Bubba7

I kept an eye on things....

Faceoff

It was a good party. :)

Here is his birth story, not gory... :)

He really has improved since last year...I think (I hope) that he is finally settling into our life now together, just us three in our house. So much for him has changed over the last year, with the finalization of the divorce, the new house, the new significant others. It seems that lately he's really started to settle in with all of the changes.

His fits are less and less, not that they are gone, but I'd say he's more to the "normal" side in number of fits, if there is a "normal" side.

He hasn't gotten into any trouble at school for the most part, nothing of the sexual nature anyway.

And maybe I am delusional. I don't know...but lately it has seemed more tolerable...and better. When I'm not pmsing .

Counseling is going well, she has good things to say about Bubba and she strongly feels that nothing has happened to him (again, back story, he has said and drawn some pretty explicit sexual things, that a boy his age should not know...which has the school and me concerned for him). However, we will continue in counseling until we feel it isn't of benefit to him anymore.

He is doing well in wrestling and when I say well, I don't mean in wins (he's had two)...but his attitude on the mat and immediately following the matches has been impressive to me. I really thought it was gonna be ugly...but it hasn't...and I tell him all the time how proud I am of him for having a good sportsman like attitude. I only ask that that same attitude follow him home sometimes.

He's so handsome. :)

I love you my Bubba-rooski!!

I will love you forever. Happy birthday Bud. :)

Let's break it down.

*Does a busy dance*

The last report cards:  Both kids did GREAT.  As and Bs.  Awesomeness.
Our next ones will be on their way at the end of this month.

Funny story.  Kids and I were driving in the mini-mom-mobile.  We were talking about their grades.  Bubba got a B in "language".  I was talking out loud about what kind of homework comes home for "language" and wondering what he's missing to get a B.  Not that a B is bad, just trying to figure out how to make that B an A.  (It was his only B).

He looked at me with his biggest most beautiful blue eyes and said, "Mom, I haven't used any bad language...why did I get a B?"

Buhahah.  Buggy and I had a great laugh about that one.

Parent/Teacher/Student Conferences.
Buggy is doing great, awesome to have in class, very helpful and eager to learn.  *high fives my 4th grader*
She still struggles with remembering to bring home her student planner...and in my opinion keeping her stuff neat and tidy...crosses over into her room and hygiene as well.

Bubba academically is doing very well.  Right where he should be if not a little beyond.  He's still having issues with blurting out the answer in class and even though the answer is right he isn't raising his hand or allowing other students to shine.  He's very concerned with everyone else's business and has to be in control when it comes to group activities.  *whistles*  I think I might know where the control issue comes from....*whistles*.  NO PRINCIPAL CALLS TO DATE THIS SCHOOL YEAR.  For that, we are very very proud!!

Counseling:
Kids are still going.  Buggy loves it, Bubba is indifferent.  I think he likes it, but he can't SAAAYY he likes it.  *shakes head* Boys.
We are hoping to drop them both down to one visit a month.  We being the counselor and my pocketbook me.

That's that and that's that....I am very proud of the kids and their schooling so far this year. :)
*proud mom*

Best Fall Weekend...EVER...

I had the best fall weekend...ever.  It really was awesome.  The weather was BEAUTIFUL!
The events were awesome.

Lets start the weekend off with a little football, shall we?

Bubba's last game of the season, it was bitter sweet really.

046

I was self elected photo mom and I'm gonna tell you something...it's pretty hard to get shots, especially when your child is the one in on the play.  After missing a tackle on his side of the field, he didn't let it happen again.
Here is Bubba...making the last tackle of the game, keeping this kid from the end zone.  It was BEAUTIFUL.

Bubba's LAST tackle

Though it was more of a grab the jersey tackle, it was the best way to end the season and keep the other team from scoring.

When Bubba's Dad asked me if I got it on camera I couldn't even remember if I did or not.
"I don't know" I said to him, "I might have been too busy cheering."  I shrugged and walked away.

I did get it though...so I was cheering from behind my camera.  Mr.FF said, "Oh I heard you, screaming and then a *click click click* of your camera."

Ha. Well then, I am pretty damn awesome and multi talented. :)

After the game each kid that participated got a medal, here is Bubba with his classic "I'm embarrassed, not gonna smile face"
140

I really enjoyed football a lot more than I ever thought I would.  After nearly losing my breakfast at the first game due to nerves, I've grown into a true football mom, counting down til next year's season.

180
Tiny Mites 2-5 team but they couldn't be happier. :)

After Bubba's game was Mr.FF's game, his last shot.  Sadly, there's always next year for him to win.
In my humble opinion, he was a FANTASTIC coach and a MUCH better one than his record showed.
Next year sweetheart, NEXT YEAR.  I am also thrilled that next year Mr.FF could be Bubba's coach!

*hmmm break me off a piece of that coach*

Burger and Bubba.

Ok, I'm gonna stop there...and tease you with this Music Monday song...and somewhat topic of my blog tomorrow...hopefully.
(Oh the places this could go)

I love P!nk, she is hot and can sing her ass off.  Here she is singing Glitter in the Air -Live.
And for you men...TRUST ME...you want to see this too. :)

LET'S GO CRAZY

Listen, I don't care who you are...
PRINCE is a pretty sexy singer...just sayin.

I remember my Mom LOVING Prince, or the artist formerly known as Prince (now I think he's some he/she symbol), then as he got a little more risque I remember my Mom saying, "What??? That's Prince???"  with a TSK sound following.  I knew though deep down, she still secretly loved him.

There was a time that he was around for a concert... I so wished I could have gotten tickets for her and I to go.  That would have been awesome. :)

So the Let's Go Crazy is fitting for this Music Monday because today (not much different from other days) I'm overwhelmed with schedules.  This schedule, that schedule, his schedule, ex's schedules.  I think I need to schedule a break.

However, I can't schedule a break, cause I don't have time for a break. :)

This is our last week of football and as much as I complain I'm going to miss it.

Bubba's team won this past weekend, so that was fun.  He was excited.

Buggy had her first belt test for karate; she is now a yellow/white belt.  She was excited.

Both exes took their respective kids on Saturday night.  So Mr.FF and I were excited. ;)
Mr.FF gave me a "belt" test.

My camera battery died...so I didn't any pictures of any of it.  BOOOO.
My momma taught me right, I wouldn't document MY belt test in photographs anyway.

Today, 10/11, is my friend's daughter's birthday.

Fourteen years ago, I was in the delivery room with my friend watching her daughter be born.  No worries, I stayed up by friend's head, I didn't scope out her woohaa.  I can vividly remember the day, I think I can remember it more clearly than the day of my own children's birth.

I also remember going home after her birth and crying for twenty minutes at how beautiful it all was.  I still thank my friend every year for allowing me to be a part of that day with her, her husband and her beautiful baby girl.

Blows me away it's been fourteen years ago, time really flies.  I am very thankful to be reminded every year just how long I have been friends with the people in my life.  Some longer than others, but all equally valued.  I love my friends! :)

So for a Monday, I'm kinda flying high right now;  remembering a great weekend, remembering a great birth fourteen years ago and feeling grateful for friends, family, whips, and busy schedules!

(HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO MY CANADIAN FRIENDS)

Random, is it time to go home yet?

Time is flying today, which makes for a good Friday.

It's been three weeks since a contractor was at my house, I've still not seen an estimate.  WTF?

The cat piss smell from previous owner's pet is killing me.  It was so bad one morning I almost started ripping up the carpet myself.

I got my "congrats on your one year anniversary on your house" letter from my mortgage company.  It went a little something like this..."Hey, congrats on your one year in your home.  Your escrow was underestimated and your new payment will be $200.00 more per month."   Isn't home ownership awesome?

It still does blow my mind that it's been a year.

september09 068

We had Buggy's ninth birthday at our house last year...we are having her second birthday party in OUR home this weekend.  Mr.FF is making her an ice cream/jonas brothers/webkinz/karate cake.  Buggy's design.  Good times.

Sunday will be a true football day for us.  All three boys have games and the Bears will be on.  Hopefully it won't be football weather.  I am so not ready for the cold.

Speaking of football, Bubba's team won their first game last weekend, they were so stoked.  Even though they don't keep score officially for his age group, we all know it was a win...parents, kids and the coaches.

sept2010 426

Along those same lines, Bubba was totally bad ass in the game too.  Something clicked that week before the game.  He's actually tackling and getting into the plays.  It's really fun to watch.

Bubba is really ready to put up the Halloween stuff.  I told him one holiday at a time, Buggy's birthday comes first.  Then it's fair game.

Well I think that's all for now...hope you all have a great weekend.
