R-O-W-D-I-E, that's the way we spell rowdie, rowdie...let's get rowdie (is it really spelled that way?)

WE didn't get the best pictures the night of the party...

MISC 111

But I know you're all dieing to know what we dressed up as...aren't you?

Oh you're not?  OK, then lets move on to a Random Tuesday....

No?

WE thought long and HARD about what we were going to be...it was between Adam and Eve, Popeye and Olive Oyl, and the winner.  We drove out to the costume store.

No Adam and Eve. :(

Olive Oyl, but no Popeye. :(

Our hearts sank just a little when we didn't find the third option and our brains started turning as to what else we could be.  As we stood looking over the huge wall of options, there it was.

MR.FF's first choice of costumes....He's such a nut.

Here we are, blurry, but you get the idea.

MISC 110

Yes, my leg really can go that high.

Yes, Mr.FF knows he's a lucky lucky man.

*Ahem*

Here is the skit we were portraying...we worked on The Perfect Cheer and everything.

Sadly we were unable to get the Tone Loc song we needed in time for the party. :(  We did stop at Walmart on the way.  I am sure it was very difficult for the Walmart salesman to stifle his giggles when asked if they had the Funky Cold Medina song.

Especially since Paul is the one who asked while Mr.FF (not in costume, btw) hid his face in the cds and I (in costume btw) kept my back to the whole conversation....

MISC 128
Paul McCartney and the Grim Reaper.

We did complete one cheer though, it had the crowd rolling on the floor and Mr.FF's eye's rolling in the back of his head (or at least that's what it looks like in the picture)

MISC 115
"Who's that in my tee pee?"
"It's me, It's me"

*straightens skirt*

We had a really fun night even if we didn't have the music.  We are already thinking about what we can be for next year.

Best Fall Weekend...EVER...

I had the best fall weekend...ever.  It really was awesome.  The weather was BEAUTIFUL!
The events were awesome.

Lets start the weekend off with a little football, shall we?

Bubba's last game of the season, it was bitter sweet really.

046

I was self elected photo mom and I'm gonna tell you something...it's pretty hard to get shots, especially when your child is the one in on the play.  After missing a tackle on his side of the field, he didn't let it happen again.
Here is Bubba...making the last tackle of the game, keeping this kid from the end zone.  It was BEAUTIFUL.

Bubba's LAST tackle

Though it was more of a grab the jersey tackle, it was the best way to end the season and keep the other team from scoring.

When Bubba's Dad asked me if I got it on camera I couldn't even remember if I did or not.
"I don't know" I said to him, "I might have been too busy cheering."  I shrugged and walked away.

I did get it though...so I was cheering from behind my camera.  Mr.FF said, "Oh I heard you, screaming and then a *click click click* of your camera."

Ha. Well then, I am pretty damn awesome and multi talented. :)

After the game each kid that participated got a medal, here is Bubba with his classic "I'm embarrassed, not gonna smile face"

I really enjoyed football a lot more than I ever thought I would.  After nearly losing my breakfast at the first game due to nerves, I've grown into a true football mom, counting down til next year's season.

Tiny Mites 2-5 team but they couldn't be happier. :)

After Bubba's game was Mr.FF's game, his last shot.  Sadly, there's always next year for him to win.
In my humble opinion, he was a FANTASTIC coach and a MUCH better one than his record showed.
Next year sweetheart, NEXT YEAR.  I am also thrilled that next year Mr.FF could be Bubba's coach!

*hmmm break me off a piece of that coach*

Burger and Bubba.

Ok, I'm gonna stop there...and tease you with this Music Monday song...and somewhat topic of my blog tomorrow...hopefully.
(Oh the places this could go)

I love P!nk, she is hot and can sing her ass off.  Here she is singing Glitter in the Air -Live.
And for you men...TRUST ME...you want to see this too. :)

Heck.

Heck, I haven't posted for two days.
Wow.  That's not like me. Not at all.

What I can tell you is...since I missed Random Shiz Tuesday, I'm gonna hit you in the right spot with a random today.  Maybe that will explain my absence.

- I feel like someone's sitting on my face.  Someone is straddling my nose...and it's not a good thing.
*run with that dirty minded readers*

- Football practice has been going well.  Bubba is loving it.  I am not sure how WELL he's performing, but what I can tell you is that there is just NOT enough time for him to act up or he's just too darn tired to act up.

- Maybe it's that when he does act up a little now, I know bed time is RIGHT AROUND the corner.
Here's the schedule....I leave work an hour early, pick him and Buggy up at daycare, go home he gets changed into his gear, walk up to practice.  Practice from 5-7, get home 7:10 (ish) he showers, I cook dinner, Buggy does whatever she needs to do that night, we eat, Buggy showers and then it's bed time.

No time for much fit throwing.  I am THRILLED.

- Buggy also started Tae Kwando (however that is spelled, for ease sake we just call it Karate) she loves it.  It is two nights a week.  We walk Bubba to his practice, then we walk up to her class.  I drop her there, walk back to Bubba's practice and then back to get her when her class is over...and then back to Bubba's.

- All this walking is HELPING tremendously with my Weight Watchers lifetime maintenance.  Plus it feels good to walk, it feels good to have some of that leftover flab feel like it's tightening up.  Now if I can find ten minutes in this schedule to go to weigh ins that would ROCK. :)

- MR.FF is coaching Burger's team.  Every night of the week, 5:30-7:45 (ish).  Busy guy.  I miss him.  However, this is how our schedules will work once school starts anyway so it's just preparing us for when that time comes.

- Onion, Mr.FF's oldest, is also playing football this year.  So far he says it's going well.  Kids and I are going to try to get out to one of his practices when Bubba's practices go down to two nights a week.

- I royally burnt dinner one night I was trying to get ahead.  This was WORSE than the EGGSPLOSION.  *sigh*

- Jimmy Buffett concert this weekend...I CAN NOT WAIT.

- Every one of these randoms could be blog posts in their own rights...now I just need to get to writing them.

- Got in trouble at work today.  Therefore...gonna get my butt in gear here and do some damage control.

Maybe it's time to bring this girl back....

When it rains, it pours..

The weekend was great, even though Bubba was grounded.

6 2 10 110

We set up the little pool that we have.

6 2 10 107
Burger and Buggy.

*sigh* boys and their hose.

6 2 10 103

Burger, almost 8 and Buggy, almost 10 really had a great time playing around together with Bubba out of the way. Onion was in a little trouble too and unable to swim. So these two bonded and had a great time creating animal shows (think Shamu) from the pool.

6 2 10 100

It was a gorgeous day.

We had people over that night, for more swimming and to watch the Blackhawks and UFC fighting. We grilled, we roasted marshmallows, the kids camped outside. It was a good time.

Sunday was HOT HOT HOT. Buggy went with Mr.F's kids to their gramma's pool, Mr.F went golfing, Bubba stayed in his room and I lounged on the couch watching the Indy 500. It was a pretty good day.

Monday, when I decided to let Bubba off of grounding, Mr.F got called into work. I loaded up all the gang in swimsuits and headed back to Mr.F's parent's house for more pool time.

By the time we arrived the full on rain fest started. It rained all day long. As we sat inside with our suits on just waiting for it to clear. It never did.

It still was nice to lay around watching movies.

When I got home, everything that we had left outside was soaked. The windows of the tent had been left open, the pool towels that were hanging to dry, were drenched.

So I picked up what I could from the yard and left the rest out to "dry" the next day (OK two days).

Wednesday morning, 4 am, I was woken from my beauty slumber to a strange whooshing sound. It was lightening pretty badly and down pouring.

"SHIT, the tent!" I thought. I pictured myself looking out the window to see the tent flying towards me.

I didn't see the tent, I rubbed my eyes trying to clear the sleep from them. I squint my eyes to look again.

"FOR THE LOVE OF PETE." I said to no one.

I couldn't see anything but trees. I texted Mr.F..."Shit, power is out, trees down in yard, tent is toast!"

It still was storming pretty badly so I couldn't go out to assess the damage and there was no way I was going back to bed. So I laid on the couch, waiting for daylight to break and when it did, here is what I saw.

6 2 10 120

6 2 10 119

See over to the far right? That little bit of green (not grass)? That's the tent, or what's left of it. THANK GOD, no one was sleeping in that tent. Two trees fell right on top of it.

6 2 10 117

Nipsco was out by 6 am working on the snapped pole, which put about 50 or more homes without power.

6 2 10 116

Here are the culprits, two trees and a huge branch from a third. You can see the snapped Nipsco pole and the new one they had already installed by lunch time yesterday.

Honestly, I can go on all day about how lucky we are that nothing went through our roof, or anyone's roof. How lucky we are that the downed wires didn't spark any fires, how no one was in that tent. I am very thankful.

Very thankful.

Now though? Clean up. None of this mess is covered with home owner's insurance. The "act of God" clause will keep insurance away for the neighbor's fence. Not only cleaning the trees out of my yard, but continuing the job started by "God" or Mother Nature and removing the now snapped in half trees.

So if you're looking for me this weekend, Mr.F and I will be doing it Paul Bunyan style. (What??)

Paul Bunyan Pictures, Images and Photos

(Remember back when I bought the house? It had survived the tornado unscathed, and now this storm, please don't let our luck run out or bad to happen in threes here. THANKYOUVERYMUCH)
