Brighter Days...

I'm still in a rental car, but it's been fun driving around a little car instead of the Mom Mobile.

I got a hair trim the other night and since I've had some good hair days.  I've never really liked my hair long, but Mr.FF does and lately I've kinda liked it too.

Even though the death of my friend still weighs heavy on my heart, she is no longer in pain.  Her children don't have to watch her suffer any longer...and her husband can now pick up the pieces and start living his days without the stress of caring for a cancer patient.  *sigh*

I've been taking a lot of time lately learning more about photography...taking classes for editing and actually putting forth some time and money in getting my photos where I want them to be.  I love the progression, I love the joy that photographing people gives me.  Check out my latest work here.

Kids have been away this week for Spring Break.  It's given me a chance to catch up on laundry and even though they've been missed the week has flown by.  I can't wait for them to get home and tell me all about their adventures.

With their absence, I did finish Water for Elephants and have started The Descendants.  Reading is fun.

So the past two weeks have been pretty low, I think things are moving over to brighter days.

More of the same

I wasn't overly creative with my choice of profanities the other day, was I?

I'm afraid, today, *might* not be as creative either.

Meh.

I was on my way to work yesterday, listening to the radio and enjoying the beautiful breeze blowing in from my open van windows.

Open window.  Warm weather in March.  PURE BLISS.

There it came, flying off of the back of a semi trailer.  A tire.  Rolling, bouncing, flying.

Awe.  FUCK.  (see? more of the same).

It's flying right towards me.  Shit.

Do I speed up?  Do I break?

BAM.

Mother.Fucker. (a variation of the same)

Wake is tonight, Funeral tomorrow.  Hope you all have a wonderfully SAFE weekend.

Warning, profanities bound to follow

Michelle passed away last night.

Five minutes before I got there.  I'm not upset about missing her last breaths.  I don't think I could handle being there for that.  She was surrounded by her family and us friends were there minutes after.

Fuck.

We knew it was coming and I am thankful that she is no longer in pain.  I am thankful for her family, they can now stop spending their days wondering if it's the last.

Fuck.

Fuck.
Fuckity Fuck Fuck.

Carry on.

Bears Game (a post from September that I never published)

The GOOD, the BAD and the ANNOYING.

THE GOOD:

Buggy and I went to the Chicago Bears game last night with Mr.FF's parents.

It was hot.  90+ degrees down on the field at start time.

It is unnatural to go to a professional football game in shorts...and beer that warms with in 2 minutes of pouring it.

Not that I had any beer, but I can imagine it wasn't too cold.

I felt bad for the vendors that had to carry that stuff up and down the stands.

I love, love, love going to the games, but I am way too much of a people watcher to catch everything that happens on the field.

(Note, one of my favorite recievers caught an awesome pass for a touchdown, that rocked...and Mr.FF...Christmas. Knox. 13. Size Med. mmmk?)

Back to the people watching, there were four gentlemen, er men, er guys, er...kids in front of us.  They did not shut up, the entire game.  The more they drank the more they talked.  They harrassed each other to a point that I thought they were going to stand up and duke it out due to their intoxicated state.  I kept picturing the fight breaking out and me having to push them all down the stairs to get them to stop.

The one had legs the size of trees, so a leg sweep would have been out.  I would have had to push...and push hard (twss).  To match his tree stump legs, he was a large guy...tall and stocky.  He reminded me of this guy...his voice even sounded like him.

(If you don't know who that is, then you don't watch enough reality tv. ;)  Or I watch too much.  This is Jason Davis - He was on Celebrity Rehab season 4.  He also appeared on Millionaire Matchmaker, where he farted ON his date.  He's real classy like that.  Meow. NOT.)

Back to the kid in front of us...he was ridiculous...and I think my 10 year old daughter behaved better than him...however she was at beer zero to his way too many.

He made me wish I was home, in the comfort of my air conditioned home watching the game on TV...and that's saying A LOT.

I am glad, though, that I was able to go with Buggy.  She was giddy to be alone without any other kids.  She was fun, she was funny...and when I have her one on one like that...I really like her.  Really.

Is it summertime?

This weather is CCCCCCCCRRRAAAAZZZZYYY.

It is 80 plus degrees. In March. In NW Indiana.

*twilight zone, er ozone?, music*

It really is gorg out.

We finished up the wrestling season this past weekend.  I am going to actually have FREE time this weekend, ya know ... right after flag football practice, game and the Pinewood Derby for cub scouts.  I mean I just don't know what I am going to do with all that extra time....

Oh wait, yes I do know what I am going to do.  I am going to enjoy every second of all of it.  Every part of it.  I am going to take my camera out for FUN...I'm going to open up the house...I am going to wash all the blankets and pillows.  I love the smell of freshly washed bedding.

Sounds like a heavenly weekend, no?

I hope you all are enjoying every second of your day.

Michelle yesterday, photo by her husband.  He put this on his Facebook with a caption..."Take that cancer, you can't stop us from getting a tan."
Made me smile.
It's still making me smile today...nevermind the irony of skin cancer...which might be one part of Michelle's body that DOESN'T have cancer.
 I love this picture.
If I print one picture for myself to keep of her, this will be the one.

my heart hurts

Even worse, is the pain behind my eyes.

Michelle, has stopped eating.

Maybe that explains my insatiable hunger lately.  Could I be eating HER portions out of the pain I feel for her family?

If I even think about it all for longer than a second I will be a pool of tears on the ground.  This is just too much to handle and I'm not her child, I am not her husband, I am not her parents.  Thinking about their pain is just unbearable.

Cancer sucks.
