1,000

Why not be random? eh?  It's one of the things I do best.

In honor of my 1,000th post please send me $1,000.

Thank you.

Today is my 1000th post.  I mean technically it would have been yesterday two days a week ago had I posted, but the pressure was just too much to handle.  I think your $1,000 will help though.

While you're in the giving spirit....how 'bout some extra hours in the day?  A clone of me?

Have your people contact my people, let's make it happen.

Moving on.

Is it really time to be sending out email advertising Halloween Costumes?  Cause I'm getting 'em, and I've looked and then realized, for the love of PETE it's August.

Tonight is practice number  3 4 7 for football.  This year Mr.FF is Bubba's coach!  I am equipment manager in all ways. ;)  We have official weigh ins this Saturday and a scrimmage game.  Good times.  Go Team.

Also this weekend we are suppose to go to the minor league baseball game and camp out on the field afterwards with the cub scouts.  We did this last year too, it was cool. :)

The other day a funny thing happened.  I had all the brady kids.  I told them to grab a snack while I ran out to the van to clean out all the junk in the trunk. *giggle*  When I came back in, there were THREE BOYS, eating my fiber one bars.  I caught the younger two only three bites into theirs.  I made them put 'em down and step away from the poopin bars.  I let the older one finish his.  He wasn't sleeping at my house that night. ;)

On that note, let me just say this is the shittiest (ha) 1,000 post ever, but I have to leave early for football...maybe I should just give up bloggin.  *contemplating*

Best Fall Weekend...EVER...

I had the best fall weekend...ever.  It really was awesome.  The weather was BEAUTIFUL!
The events were awesome.

Lets start the weekend off with a little football, shall we?

Bubba's last game of the season, it was bitter sweet really.

I was self elected photo mom and I'm gonna tell you something...it's pretty hard to get shots, especially when your child is the one in on the play.  After missing a tackle on his side of the field, he didn't let it happen again.
Here is Bubba...making the last tackle of the game, keeping this kid from the end zone.  It was BEAUTIFUL.

Bubba's LAST tackle

Though it was more of a grab the jersey tackle, it was the best way to end the season and keep the other team from scoring.

When Bubba's Dad asked me if I got it on camera I couldn't even remember if I did or not.
"I don't know" I said to him, "I might have been too busy cheering."  I shrugged and walked away.

I did get it though...so I was cheering from behind my camera.  Mr.FF said, "Oh I heard you, screaming and then a *click click click* of your camera."

Ha. Well then, I am pretty damn awesome and multi talented. :)

After the game each kid that participated got a medal, here is Bubba with his classic "I'm embarrassed, not gonna smile face"

I really enjoyed football a lot more than I ever thought I would.  After nearly losing my breakfast at the first game due to nerves, I've grown into a true football mom, counting down til next year's season.

After Bubba's game was Mr.FF's game, his last shot.  Sadly, there's always next year for him to win.
In my humble opinion, he was a FANTASTIC coach and a MUCH better one than his record showed.
Next year sweetheart, NEXT YEAR.  I am also thrilled that next year Mr.FF could be Bubba's coach!

Ok, I'm gonna stop there...and tease you with this Music Monday song...and somewhat topic of my blog tomorrow...hopefully.
(Oh the places this could go)

I love P!nk, she is hot and can sing her ass off.  Here she is singing Glitter in the Air -Live.
And for you men...TRUST ME...you want to see this too. :)

Wordless kinda.

I stand corrected...Onion's team did win one game this season.
Also, if you look closely you can see Bubba in this picture.  He is standing by the "team mom" and you can kinda see his new hair do...

a Mohawk.

:)  He's bad ass.  Now if he would tackle like he's bad ass.

Random Jizz..shizz.

Serenity Now!! Insanity Later...

It's random day.
Funny thing is, for once I don't feel like going random...but I will...cause time is limited these days.

My license plate is expired.  OOPS and GRRR.
Since I moved I never received a notice that it was time to renew...and well, outta sight outta mind.
So somehow, at some point in this crazy schedule I am going to have to get to the emissions testing place, then back to the DMV to get it taken care of.

I'm still flying on the good news yesterday. :-)

Yesterday was Bubba's football pictures.  I forgot my order form.  I could have filled a new one out but I figure I can take good enough pictures.  The only thing I will be missing is the team photo.  I can scam scan one of those out of Capt'n Cancel's package...ew wait order.

Buggy has counseling on Friday at the same time she is suppose to be at Brownies.  Good times.

Kids had open house at school last week...I got good reports on BOTH kids.  This makes me so happy especially in Bubba's case.  We all know how last year ended.

All the Fall shows are starting next week...wooohooo...what shows are you excited about?  Me?  GREY'S ANATOMY!!!  For serious.  I'm a little excited for GLEE too. :-)

That's all I've got for today folks.
Gotta leave work early for football.

Happy Random Tuesday Shiznit

Becareful what you wish for...

You know all those posts about the absence of my father?

You know all those posts about how I'd love for him to be a part of my life, to know me, to know my kids, to be proud of me?

Yeah.

The thing is, it's been so long.  There's been so many disappointments, so many empty promises, unspoken expectations that all have fallen.  Crashing down to the ground.

He seems to come around just enough to make me think, maybe this time, he will realize how great we are, the kids and I.  Maybe just this time he will realize his mistakes in not taking a more active roll in the past twenty years.  Maybe just this time.  It will be different.

My Dad came to Bubba's game last weekend, he SAID he'd be at this Saturday's game.

I saw the hurt in my "step-mom's" posture when after the game Bubba was standing there and my step dad (who is very active in our lives) walked up and I said, "Hey Bubba there's grampy!"  Her shoulders slumped and she looked over to my Dad for his reaction.

I don't even know what to have my kids refer to him as, it's all so awkward.

Hey kids, here's your "grandpa", just doesn't seem right.  There's nothing GRAND about his PA-ing.

Meh.  Maybe this will be like all the other times...a few attempts and then he'll be done.

*AAARRRGGGHHH*

I know, I'm all whine whine boo hiss.

Tis the Season.
The season of Football.

She's still talking about this PAST weekend.

So the weekend...

what???

Yes, I know, we are rounding the corner to another weekend.  Bare with me while I tell you about the weekend past.

Saturday we had the privilege to join Mr.FF, Burger and Onion on Scouts night at the Gary Railcats game.

The cool part was after the game all the scouts were invited to camp out on the field.  We were pretty stoked.

railcats campout

They played a movie on the jumbo tron and kids were running everywhere.

I am not a big camper...I mean, I don't mind it as long as there is a place to pee and shower and preferably they are in different stalls.

By midnight however, the movie was still playing, there were kids still running everywhere.  We had an early wake up call to get Bubba over to his first football game.  My alarm was set to wake us at 5 am.

We got all the kids into the tent, they could still see the movie from the open windows.  I knew that the younger ones would fall asleep pretty quickly...Mr.FF too.  I dozed off to wake when the movie was over.  I looked over at the rest of my tent sharers to see all sleeping faces.

*shew*

5 am alarm sounded and I snoozed it til about 6 am, then it was up and about time.  I was surprised to see how many people were up and taking down their tents.  I just wanted some coffee...and to wash my face.

We packed up pretty quickly and headed out to Bubba's first "game".

Bubba football

He looked so stinking cute tough in his football gear.  We taped up his chin, double padded his chin strap and sent him out to the Brickies wolves.  He hadn't practiced with his team for the last week and a half due to the stitches.  To say I was nervous would be putting it lightly.

Mr.FF reassured me that he would be fine, he was so sweet holding my hand and laughing supporting me in cheering for Bubba.

Well, he didn't get killed out there, but he was pretty timid.  I am hoping that some more practice time will help with that.

We have our FIRST REAL game this Saturday *bites nails*.

Mr.FF has his coaching debut game this weekend too.  I am sure that I will be there (in spirit cause I can't be on the field) supporting him and laughing cheering him and Burger on for their game.

Stitches

Seriously. I started posting all about my weekend and it was the most boring journal of events.

Let's do this in parts, mmmk?

Friday, FRIDAY, FRIDAY.

I was out of work early to get Bubba's stitches out.

Aug2010 004

He was nervous.  Getting the stitches in was quite dramatic.  Bubba FREAKED the heck out.  He remembers all too well the first time he had stitches.  So do I.  I can't believe I never posted about it, but it was back when I first started blogging.

We were in Wisconsin Dells, I was trying to get a picture of Bubba, he took off running and slipped on the slide cutting open his chin.  It was pretty bad, but we decided to do nothing but bandage it.  BAD idea.

When we got him I took him to the medical clinic to have it looked at and make sure it was OK.  It was not.  It had started to heal, they had to practically reopen the wound *queasy stomach* and clean it out *holds back vomit* to stitch it up.

Our stay in the little room was extended by me almost passing out and the nurses not letting us go until my blood pressure returned to normal.  Mom award ripped out of my hands, I was NOT strong for my Bubbas.

This time, I got the call from daycare.  On the drive over my stomach was already turning.  I arrived at daycare took one look at the cut and headed straight to the pediatrician's office.

Bubba was fine until a nurse would come in then when the doctor came in it was all chaos.  They brought in extra nurses in case he needed holding down.  I immediately told them that I am not good in these cases, but that I would stay in with my head down on the table next to him, holding his arms.

The looks on their faces were of annoyance.  I am sure they didn't want to have to pick up a Mom from the floor.  Bubba was in straight panic mode.  I wasn't going to wait in the hall, it wouldn't have made a difference, just hearing his screams would have caused the same reaction from me.  I was staying right by his side.

"What are you doing?"  He kept yelling.  "What is THAATTT?"

The nurses were trying to tell him what was happening, but he was yelling so loudly over them he couldn't hear, didn't hear, wouldn't hear.  I am sure my muffled reassurance wasn't getting through to him either.

It's all so damn traumatic.  However, he survived.  I survived.  Buggy, the nurses and the doctor all survived.

Thankfully.

Bubba walked out of the office with three stitches, the exact same number he had the first time he split his chin open.  Both scars are a hair away from each other, he looks as if he has a set of railroad tracks on his chin.  Poor guy.

He had to sit out of football practice for two weeks which equated to five total practices.  Which really showed in his debut Sunday.  Tonight it is back to full on practice and I fear the work he is up against.

Super Sunday...

Honestly I am still bitter about Super Bowl 41, where my beloved Bears were beat by the Colts.
SUPER BOLW 41 Pictures, Images and Photos
*have you seen the commercial with Peyton where people are telling him to choke, or take a hike?
They make me giggle every time I see one. It's not that I don't like the Colts, I do, just not when they are playing the Bears. :D

It has been hard to celebrate since that loss.

However, I do like the commercials, just like I like to read the articles in Playgirl. (no really, I do)

We are choosing to stay home this year, we might cook up some chili, or have some hot wings, I am thinking of whipping up some awesome salsa, but the best part is I can lay around in my jammies...

Super Bowl 2 Pictures, Images and Photos
*that's a joke, it is too damn cold to walk around like this...my jammies are more of the grandma type and I sleep with socks on sometimes, take that Liam

and still get to bed at a reasonable time for work and the kids for school the next day. Sounds like a perfect Sunday, no?

Who do you want to win?
I think the Steelers are tough, and mean and I wouldn't mind seeing them win. On the other hand, Cardinals have more of a Cinderella story, so either way, I guess is all good to me.
