TGIF! Go away headache.

I'd like to bathe in Tylenol right now.

I have a killer headache which should make the White Sox game fun tonight. :)

Taking Mr.FF's kids with us...mine went last time...how difficult is it for a family of 6 to go together?

Looks as if I will be driving a "mom" mobile for a long time to come.  Just sayin.  No downsizin there, (twss).

If we were ever to move in together...we'll need a 5....FIVE bedroom house.  *gulp*

Works perfectly if we were at an amusement park...someone always has a riding partner.

(yeeeaaahhh)

((the only riders better be me and Mr.F, just sayin))

Anyway.

I'm excited (giggle) to go to the game tonight.  Tomorrow we have our preseason football party and Sunday I'm photographing an engaged couple.  It's gonna be a good weekend.  Hope you all have a good one too.

(yeaaaah)

It better not rain on my parade...anymore....

The weather here is CRAZY.

I think Mother Nature is throwing a tantrum.

Dear Mother Nature.
Please stop.
The rain, the lightening, the thunder....THE MOTHER LOVING HAIL...it's enough.
Please.
Don't rain on my parade.
Thank you.

Stacie-The birthday girl and LOVER of all things 4th of July related.

*sigh*

I left the house this morning.  The lightening was flashing in the sky.  No rain, in fact one half of the sky was kinda bright and hopeful looking, the other half of the sky had angry clouds and lightening.  I think they were in a stare down - those two fronts.

The dark clouds took over as I drove closer to work and then BAM. Hail.  I had to pull over.  I thought the shit was gonna bust through the windshield, therefore injuring me before my awesome birthday weekend.  Not happening.  So there I sat, on the side of the road, no protection.

I was a sitting duck at hunting season.

The hail pounded on the outside of my van, threatening to dent every inch of my Mom mobile.  It was LOUD too.  I felt like a kernel inside a microwave popcorn bag.  It was crazy.  It last a good 10 minutes (TWSS) until it was safe to drive again.

My van did get dented.  Meh.

It better stop raining and being ugly out.  THIS IS MY WEEKEND...and I want to enjoy it.  Every second of it.  I hope you all have a wonderful holiday weekend.

Shit load of awesome.

How do you spend your free time?

A weekend without kids...alone.

Wanna know what I do?  Or more accurately, what I did.

I watched a shit load of movies.  Lots.  It's almost embarrassing the amount of hours I sat in front of the TV, but you know what?  It was awesome.

Just Go With It.
I love me some Adam Sandler...and throw in a little Jennifer Aniston?  Awesome.  I liked the movie.

No Strings Attached.
I loved this movie.  It was typical.  Romantic comedies are my thing, yo.

The Switch
This was really good too.  There was ONE part though.  It had me SOBBING like a BABY.  It was a not pretty cry either.  Just sayin.

How Do You Know
Meh.  This was a mindless watch.  I do like Paul Rudd and Reese Witherspoon looked gorgeous.

I didn't stop there either.  I went to the theater and saw The Hangover 2.

It was a movie marathon kind of weekend.  It's kinda of amazing really.  Not only did I watch all of these movies but I also:

Attended the Relay for Life Friday night.
Attended Bubba's baseball game Saturday morning.
Mowed the grass.
Went on a little retail therapy trip.
And spent Father's Day living it up like it was Mother's Day.  Three hours at the pool.  Reading! *gasp*
After my free time we celebrated Father's Day and my cousin's birthday.
After that...I hit the beach for a walk at sunset.

Seriously?  Amazing.

Have you ever read of a more shit load of awesome?  I think not.

This weekend is shaping up to be all kinds of fun too.  OH.  Let's start it off by making TODAY my Friday.  WOOT!!

A little bit random.

"Just for the record, the weather today is calm and sunny, but the air is full of bullshit."

— Chuck Palahniuk (Diary)

Haha. I love this.

I might have to check out the book, Diary.

He also wrote Fight Club.

I haven't seen that movie in a long time...but I remember liking Brad Pitt it. Ed Norton wasn't hard to look at either.

***
Wanna see a great performance on Idol???

Me too.

I kid.  Here check this out...

Hawt?  No?  I like Haley, but this completely SOLD me...it was haunting...and awesome....I loved it.

We said good bye to Churchy (Jacob Lusk) last night.  I think it was the right decision.

***

I am thankful for this trip to the Dude Ranch this weekend.

I am hoping it won't make me miss my Mom as much on Mother's Day. :(

***

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, happy mother's day to all of the MUTHAS moms out there.

Friday fly by

Holy cow, today has FLOWN by...maybe it's cause it's down right WINDY out today.

I walked out for lunch and thought, "Toto, we aren't in Kansas anymore."

It's THAT windy out there.

I do love when Friday's fly by...the closer to 5pm the better. :)

I haven't talked much about Idol this season, but I was a little surprised that Mr. White Teeth was eliminated last night.  I shall miss his beautiful smile. He did sing Maggie May really well.

Buh Bye Paul...keep on smilin. :)

Have a great weekend.

Books into movies...

I just finished the book The Lovely Bones.

I wanted to read the book before I saw the movie.  I guess I'm weird like that.

Mr.FF says, "What?  They made a book from this movie?"  *shakes head*

I liked the book.  I found it comforting in a way.  Sure it was about a horrible death of a young girl, but she watches her family from "the in between".  She watches as they fall apart over her death and then she watches as they grow and repair from it as well.  The comforting part?  She watches.  The family overcomes.

The movie, however, I was less than impressed.  It made her watching almost creepy and scary.  It didn't go into how much the family fell apart and it grazed on the overcoming parts.

Mr.FF said, "This movie would be trippy if I were on acid."

The heaven scenes were quite trippy, I would agree with him on that....I don't recall the book getting too overly detailed about what the heaven looked like other than it was always changing.

Anywho.

After my divorce I bought the book Eat, Pray, Love.   I think I bought it from Menard's.  Of all places.  I didn't hold much hope in it being a good book.

I read it though, well, I read half of it.  I could not get into it.

However, it was on one of the movie channels last weekend so I broke my rule of reading the book first and watched the movie.

I LOVED IT!!!

I admit, I am a fan of Julia Roberts...so that might have also played a part in it.  Oh and the hunky guy in the end...yes. please. and thank you.

So in case you're looking for something to do this weekend, I'd skip The Lovely Bones, unless you want to read this weekend...but I would definitely watch Eat, Love, Pray.

There you go.  You're welcome.

As for me...tonight Mr.FF and I do not have kids...not sure what we're gonna do...tomorrow night I'm meeting friends for dinner...and I really hope to get my storage unit cleaned out this weekend.  It's so exciting, isn't it???

Have a great weekend everyone.

Wipe your feet, it feels like a massage.

I am a door mat.
Look.  It's true.
Even Blogthings says so.
Those things are truth.

TRUTH I SAY.

You Are a Doormat

You can't help it - it makes you happy to give people what they want... at least temporarily happy.

You tend to take a backseat to the needs and wants of others. And you don't mind most of the time.

No matter what, you need to learn to speak up when it's important to you.

Even though it seems easier to avoid a confrontation, it's better in the long run if you fight for what's right.

It's happened again. Again and again, and yet, I've not said anything to those involved. Those with the phone in their hand inviting.

How many times must this happen before I stand up and scream?

One time? Ha! That wasn't even the first invite.

Two times?

How about a third time? Cause three times a lady, homeboys.

He was invited to the family's FATHER'S DAY/COUSIN'S BIRTHDAY shindig.

Really?

"I know you have plans to go to your Aunt's on Sunday, your step dad invited me too. I probably won't go, but I can drop Bubba off there for you."

*Steam pours out of ears*

Imagine my family's surprise when I showed up WITH Mr.F. I hope they felt slightly uncomfortable at the prospect of Captain Cancel showing up and having to hang out with me and my new beau.

Dumbasses.

I am sure that Capt'n Cancel will be invited to step dad's 4th of July party too.

I will be in attendance as well and I hope that Mr.F is available to go with me!

This has got to stop.

I have accepted Miss Lovely Sunshine ... Mr.F and I are even made a cake for her 50th birthday for the love of Pete...how nice are WE??

So when will all my maturity and niceness pay off for me?  Forgive me if this is whiny but seriously.

I was reminded of Buggy's 9th birthday.  The birthday when this family wouldn't even COME to the party because my Mom was going to be there.  The birthday when I had to have TWO parties just to include them.

Yet here I am, stepped on, expected to HANG OUT with the man idiot *I* DIVORCED.  (Freudian typo, DUI-VORCED)

OK, so, taking into consideration my part in this as well...I also have got to stop letting him weasel his way in period.

For example...same 9th birthday party...I agreed to have a combined party for Bugs so that there would be loving family there for her.  I bit my tongue, dealt with the awkwardness...all for the sake of the Buggy.

I also "allowed" him to stay Christmas morning so that he could see what Santa brought the kids....I still kick myself for that because I can't even justify WHY I allowed him to stay...other than I lack a backbone sometimes.

Maybe JUST MAYBE I've given the impression that it's OK to hang out with him.  BUT IT'S NOT.

On the inside I am throwing myself on the floor and throwing a big damn temper tantrum.  On the outside I am plastering a smile on my face, a friendly look in my eye, hoping and hoping that one day they will stop.

****
Updated, will this ever end???

Got a call, CC is on the line..."Hey, I hear you're going to the Cubs/Sox game"
Me: "FUCK."
CC: What?  What is your problem.
Me:  How do you know that?
CC:  I have my ways *evil laugh*
Me: *blink blink*
CC:  I had breakfast with your step dad and uncle.  What's the big deal?
Me: *steam pours out of my ears*
CC:  So what?
Me:  Big deal? So what?  The problem is I would like to LIVE MY LIFE without you being privy to every bit of my schedule.
CC: You need to get over it Stace.

I could feel the fire rising up into my throat, I could feel the devil tongue flicking in my mouth.
I bit it off.

When I left work I called my Step dad.  I explained that my life is MY LIFE and that being divorced from someone means they ARE NOT a part of that life.  What I am doing in my daily life is NONE OF HIS BUSINESS.

Step dad totally agreed.

Maybe I am a door mat, but just like any other rug, sometimes it gets old (this in NO REFERENCE TO MY AGE. *ahem*) and ragged.  I've felt the feet wiped on me one too many times, I hope that standing up and voicing MY thoughts, MY feelings and MY concerns will put an end to the stupidity.

That's about right...

Your Lost Dream Guy is Desmond

Your ideal guy is truly your soulmate. You want to love someone like Desmond who will love you forever.

You can't explain what you're attracted to. You're a big believer in fate.

You know that once you meet the right person, you'll never forget him. And he'll never forget you.

You want a man that is steady, loyal, and true. Just like Desmond!

Keep on Believing...

Your Happy Word is "Hope"

You refuse to give up on anyone, including yourself. You see the best in others.

You think happiness should be shared. You spread your message of optimism as much as possible.

You will keep believing when everyone else has stopped. You think good will always prevail in the end.

You believe if we trusted each other more, the world would be a better place. All we need is a little hope.

You Are Sympathetic Toward the World

You are a very kindhearted person, and you are definitely concerned about the world.

At times, you feel like you have to take a break from caring... you get overwhelmed by your emotions.

You may not do the most charity work, but it doesn't mean you don't notice all of the problems around you.

Just continue to do what you can. Our planet needs more people like you - that's for sure.

It's gotta feel good.

I really can't imagine being with the same person for 40 years.

I haven't been able to make it past 3 years marriage and I've been married twice!

I bet that it's gotta feel good to look over at a person you've been with for 40 years. You know each other, you've been there for each other, you're safe with each other.

I was talking with a friend yesterday. She asked how my Mom was doing, on her own in Arizona. I answered her honestly, my Mom is a little lost.

After 25 years of being with the same person, having that safe feeling even if she wasn't happy in the marriage, it was comfort, it was home. Without that now, she's a little lost. My friend said, she couldn't imagine. She'd rather continually get to know her husband, continually grow with her husband through good and bad than to be alone. "Even if it seems we are going to kill each other along the way, I wouldn't want to do life by myself, without him."

I thought it was interesting and makes a "single" girl think.

Forty years of being a team, forty years of continually growing together and relearning things about each other as your lives change. Loving the other person while they grow, while you grow, through good and bad.

I envy that. I get all warm and fuzzy thinking about how that must feel, that safeness, that comfort, that one person that knows you fully, and still loves you. It's gotta feel good.

042

Others joke, "We don't know how you've put up with each other for that many years."

Mutual respect for each other makes the "putting up with each other" worth it. To grow with love and patience.

Wishing them another 40 years of marriage, it's quite obvious the humor they have in their love.

041

Sometimes we all need to lighten up, life is short, it should be full of laughs and good times. Those are the times that shine bright during the darker times.

059

The children will learn by example, how to love, how to respect others, how to have fun and what love looks like.

It's a testament to a job well done when your children are grown, throwing your party, celebrating the years you've dedicated to each other and to raising them.

070
053

085

Often times I find myself watching other couples, watching how they interact with each other, watching how they give each other little signs of love.

107

There is laughter.

051

There is affection.

074

There is love.

109

"Love from one side hurts, but love from two sides heals." -William Shakespeare

158

Congrats on 40 years!!

Why are you still here? That's the end of the post.
Move along.
Oh, right? A picture of us. :)
Here you go. We were pretty groovy, no?
